April 1, 2008 PDF (13M) PDF Election night, recognize Deputy Treasurer Rosemarie Rossbach and Fire Lieutenant Robert Baird each for 25 years of service, acknowledgement of “green” building materials in the City’s standards for commercial buildings, grant liquor licenses,  authorize mosquito treatments.
March 18, 2008 PDF (19M) PDF Hearing on changes to allow outdoor dining areas, bought some trucks, allow recycling center to once again accept waste rocks / asphalt / batteries / cell phones, allow spending on Calhoun Road water main, allow spending on new south side fire station, change committee appointment rules, merge infrequently meeting committees into standing committees, closed session on buying houses on south Calhoun Road ultimately rejecting making an offer.

February 5, 2008 PDF (2M) PDF Change prices for numerous construction and related licenses, bought police cars, corrected and purchased right of way for Burleigh/Lilly corner, funded burying power lines on Calhoun Road south of Bluemound, confirmed Sister City relationship with Seligenstadt, Germany, closed session to set negotiating limits in discussions with DOT for construction of Greenfield Avenue.
January 15, 2008 PDF (3M) PDF Approved change to landscaping standards for developers, approved new sprinkling policy, rejected changes to Village area building, froze alderman's salaries.  

 

December 18, 2007 - Contracted with City Prosecutor, contracted with Elmbrook Humane Society, commendation for retiring Fire Chief John Dahms, tabled Library sculpture location denial, approved Deer Creek Crossing at Calhoun and Greenfield, approved Stir Crazy restaurant and Ethan Allen Furniture at mall, approved purchase of property at 1130 Adelmann for fire station, adjourned to Council Christmas party.

December 4, 2007 - Allow electronic filing of personal property tax, appoint voting inspectors.

November 20, 2007 - Paid for software updates, renewed Worker's Compensation insurance, approved Claim Jumper restaurant, rezoned property near Ruf Road, restricted parking times in Village lot, adopted 2008 budget, levied 2008 taxes.

November 6, 2007 - Approved plan for City Hall remodeling, allow Elmbrook School District to add section to City newsletter, approved start of negotiations to purchase houses on Adelman Avenue to create lot for new fire station.

October 16, 2007 - Approved storm water easements, approved construction of municipal parking lot in Village, denied purchasing two properties on South Calhoun Road.

October 2, 2007 - Approved revised Resolution of Necessity to acquire properties for new south side fire station (mayor tie breaker vote).

September 18, 2007 - Venice Club gets permit for charity event, preliminary plat approval for Johnson Heights at Lisbon and Pilgrim Roads, mayor casts tie breaker to table action on buying land for new south side fire station , closed session on lawsuit against Town of Brookfield, lawsuit against cable TV company and lawsuit against condominium association.

September 4, 2007 - Approved funding for computer software, referral on Sex Offender residency restrictions.

August 21, 2007 - Corrected zoning for condominiums at 18615 W. Burleigh Rd., revised plans for outdoor seating at Pandl's Restaurant at 18380 W. Capitol Drive, approved amendment for office and retail buildings at Capitol Heights 17875 W. Capitol Drive, approved revision for M&I training building at 401 N. Executive Drive, approved holding a public hearing for Fountain Brook Crossing, approved flashing pedestrian light at North Avenue at Norhardt Drive, rejected move to delay reconstruction of the bridge at I-94.

July 17, 2007 - Approved buying $160,072 of salt for the 2007-08 winter season, failure to override mayor's veto of elimination of sidewalks at Burleigh & Lilly Road.

June 19, 2007 - Approved lots of liquor licenses, approved contract to design new fire stations, approved Claim Jumper restaurant at mall, eliminated sidewalks at Burleigh & Lilly Road (later vetoed).

June 5, 2007 - Approved Resolution of Necessity (first step in condemnation) of Calhoun Road from Bluemound Road to Greenfield Avenue, adopted 124th Street and Lisbon Road Neighborhood Plan, directed staff to create plan for Northwest Gateway (Capitol and Barker).

May 15, 2007 - Zoning change to support 124th Street and Bluemound Road Neighborhood Plan, tabled plan.

December 19, 2006 - Funded railroad quiet zone study.

December 5, 2006 - Public hearing on 2020 Master Plan, approved contract with Elmbrook Humane Society, discussed litigation which the City is likely to become involved with AT&T Wisconsin and/or Time Warner Cable.

November 21, 2006 - Adopted budget for 2007.

November 7, 2006 - Appointed Community Development Authority members, adopted ordinance applying the "Village Area Business District" (VAB) to 34 properties in the Mixed Retail, Office and Residential Use District of the Village Area, accepted SEWRPC plan removing the Capitol Airport from its Regional Airport System Plan.

October 17, 2006 - Approved employee health insurance contract, approve plat for Weston Highlands III located at 985 and 1195 Egan Road, approve new plan and method of operation permitting construction of Brookhollow Condominiums, change flood fringe designation for former Manhardt Inn property, approve Resolution of Necessity for properties on south Calhoun Road, discussion of property annexation suit against Town of Brookfield.

October 3, 2006 - Amended City Master Plan as per task force recommendations, Ald. G. Mellone attempts to stop Calhoun Road project, discussion of Ravenswood suit against Town of Brookfield.

September 19, 2006 - Presentation on fire station relocation, appointed Karen Flaherty as City Attorney, approve yield signs on Tanglewood Drive/Court and Burnet Street.

September 5, 2006 - Approved Police union contract, discussion of Ravenswood suit against Town of Brookfield.

August 15, 2006 - Approved rezoning to allow Pandl's restaurant on Capitol Drive, proposed Village restaurant, and Johnsons Bank on North Avenue, created strategic plan for 2006-2008, litigation on Ravenswood suite against the Town of Brookfield.

July 18, 2006 - Approved multiple building sign requests, approved construction of Brookfield Christian Reformed Church, approved creation of Village Area Business District zoning, approved new restaurant in Village, changed Quebecor property from a moratorium to an agreement, discussed Town litigation on sewer I/I.

June 20, 2006 - Presentation on community survey, public hearing on proposed Village Area Business District, approve Brookfield Lutheran Church addition, create bailiff position for Municipal Court.

June 6, 2006 - Award contract to redesign city web site, approve annexation of property near Capitol Drive and Gumina Road, appointments to Library Board and Plan Commission.

May 23, 2006 - Special meeting to approve permit for Art Fair at Towne Square (Sendik's supermarket) for June 3-4.

May 16, 2006 - Public hearing on municipal water radium filtering, numerous technical adjustments to budget, approved rebuilding of McDonald's on Moorland Road, approved Mary Linsmeier day care on Brookfield Road, placed moratorium on Bluemound and 124th property (former Quebecor printing property).

May 2, 2006 - Committee appointments, closed session on Ravenswood lawsuit against Town of Brookfield, commend former Ald. Brunner, Heinrich, Kilkenny and Schellinger for their service.

April 18, 2006 - Inauguration night, elect Council president, buy a street sweeper, commend Bill Carnell on his retirement as a city employee.
