Brookfield has been my home since 1987. My wife and I bought our first house here. We're raising our daughters here. I now live, shop, attend church and do almost everything else in Brookfield. Becoming involved in city government is my way of thanking the community for all that I have enjoyed, and doing everything I can to make Brookfield even better for my family and yours.

Ald. Berg's Guiding Principles

It is impossible to predict every possible topic that will come to the Common Council in coming years.  Even if you had some insight, how could you you know now every detail you need to make a specific promise on how you will vote?  The best I can do is to make some promises about what I think the proper role of government is and how I will make decisions.

  1. Protect the Residents

    • Public safety is paramount.  That means police, fire and ambulance service must be first rate all the time.

  2. Protect the Environment

    • Brookfield is no longer a cornfield.  We have to balance the impact of 40,000 residents against the long term environmental impact.

  3. Protect Your Wallet

    • Everything costs money and nobody likes taxes.  So how do you provide the services people want with taxes they can afford?
