Welcome!

New!  Search this site, including the Common Council minutes.  Just click on Search in the upper right of every page.

Starting in January of 2008, I am scanning the information packets provided to the alderman before a Council meeting and posting them on this site.  Just find the meeting date under the Minutes tab at the top.  I usually get the information on the Saturday before the Tuesday council meeting and I hope to always make it available by Monday.

Have you seen my new blog on the Brookfield Now! web site?

Update: Monday, August 4 - June Flooding

Got a question? Comment? RUMOR!?  Given all the activity in the city and the incredible amount of mis-information flying around, there shouldn't be any shortage of things to ask about!

Type your comment in the box below and click the SEND button.  It will be sent to me and I will respond on the web site as soon as I can.   Of course, since I have a "day job" I won't be able to update this site a half dozen times a day, every day.  I plan to make a significant update every Monday morning, possibly more.

To start over, click the CLEAR button.  This feature is anonymous, but if you include your name and phone number or email I will reply to you.

There is no guarantee that every comment received will be posted on the site.  After all, this sort of form is notorious for spammers!

Ald. Berg's Guiding Principles

It is impossible to predict every possible topic that will come to the Common Council in coming years.  Even if you had some insight, how could you you know now every detail you need to make a specific promise on how you will vote?  The best I can do is to make some promises about what I think is the proper role of government and how I will make decisions.

  1. Protect the Residents

    • Public safety is paramount.  That means police, fire and ambulance service must be first rate all the time.

  2. Protect the Environment

    • Brookfield is no longer a cornfield.  We have to balance the impact of 40,000 residents against the long term environmental impact.

  3. Protect Your Wallet

    • Everything costs money and nobody likes taxes.  So how do you provide the services people want with taxes they can afford?
